Gibson buys Mesa/Boogie

I've been a long-time fan and owner of mesa/boogie amps (mark iii) and I've got several Gibson guitars, including a custom shop LP.

When I fist saw this I thought it was a cool partnership but then I started worrying about it a little - like will this possibly ruin what mesa has going for it? Will they be forced to reduce costs by using cheaper parts or cheaper manufacturing? I mean, this is business, and business is all about the bottom line and I'm sure gibson is expecting mesa to make them a profit and that expection will likely increase every year. They can only sell so many amps so the profit needs to come from somewhere and usually that comes in the form of cost cutting. But who knows, maybe they will be allowed to continue operating as they are and continue making high quality amps.
